Brief Survey

The Institute of Modern History, CASS
    The Institute is a national institute subordinate to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Its main job is to study the history of the 110 years from the outbreak of the Opium War in 1840 to the establishment of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, though its studies stretch somewhat beyond 1840 and 1949. The Institute’s research areas include the fields of politics, economy, diplomacy, thought, culture, education, scholarship and society, as well……
